Absentee Ballot

We've received inquiries about how to vote by absentee ballot in the upcoming Primary or General Election.  We wanted to provide some basic information here and then direct you to the Albany County Board of Elections for further information and the Absentee Ballot application, available on line or at the ABOE offices in person.

If you will not be able to vote in person on Primary Day, Tuesday September 15, 2009, or at the General Election, Tuesday, November 3, 2009, you can apply to vote by absentee ballot.

Voters enrolled in the Republican or Conservative Party must request an Absentee Ballot no later than September 8th (and should probably do so by September 1 or so to be safe) and return your ballot by September 22 to participate in the September 15th Republican and Conservative Party Primaries.

Visit this Albany County Board of Elections link for a ballot request form and instructions: http://www.albanycounty.com/uploadedFiles/absentee(1).pdf

Voters enrolled in the Democratic or Independent Party do not vote until the General Election on November 3 because there is no primary on either of these lines.

Any registered voters seeking to vote Absentee in the General Election should request a General Election Absentee ballot ballot no later than October 27 (and should do so no later than October 20 or so to be safe) and return your ballot by November 10th to participate.

For further information check out the link above or call the County Board of Elections at (518) 487-5060 or visit the Albany County BOE at:
